I think, in the end, what I’m honestly going to miss most about living on my own in NYC is the ability to have “Part of Your World” blaring out of my tiny speakers on repeat while I sing along as loudly as I can in the shower, since there’s no one even in this building who can hear it or judge me.
I keep getting up every few minutes and thinking:
I’m in New York. I should go out.
And then I hear the distant roar of thunder as the sky darkens several shades and I’m like:
Someone is filming something in Grand Central right now, they’ve got official signs to block off the area and everything. Anyone have any idea what?
EDIT: Never mind, it’s something for MSG called “Not For You” and I may be appearing in it now as an uncredited extra since I walked through the filming area (which was allowed). Groovy.
I’m just wandering around NYC right now and I feel like it’s the most pathetic thing ever.
This city is so crowded, so of course there’s no one here…you know?
This is not a cupcake.
This is, at the very most, a thimblecake or something.
Damn you, NYC, and your tiny, delicious, overpriced baked goods.
i have kani chips now so this evening is automatically great.
oh yeah, and i explored my neighborhood and practiced my morning commute and got dinner with my friend Ben and crossed through literally the entire width of Manhattan today.
so that was pretty great too!
Moved into my NYC apartment.
Oh god it’s beautiful and so echoey-echoey-echoey-echoey…
- Moving to NYC on Sunday
- Starting my Lucky Magazine editorial internship next Monday
Some creep at Penn Station kept trying to talk to me and call me “sweetheart,” and when I ignored him, he walked away and shouted over to me, “Yeah, well, you look like a little boy!” Thank you, New York.
