Enjolras
so, i saw the les mis movie today…
New Les Miz posters
Just watched the trailer for Fantine’s Story the Les Mis movie.
There are positives and there are negatives, but I’m leaning more toward liking it than hating it.
Thoughts?
you draw as well??? you keep gaining more and more awesome points.
Mmhm! Check under the Read More cut for some things I’ve drawn that are currently up on Tumblr:
OH THANK GOD AWESOME. →
British actress Samantha Barks will be playing Eponine instead of Swift in the movie musical. Barks previously played the role last year in the West End production, as well as during the 25th Anniversary Concert filmed at the O2.
I made this.
Les Mis Street Fighter-style Japanese video game called “ArmJoe.”
Yes, this is a real thing.
Yes, you can download it if you have a PC.
Yes, “RoboJean” is exactly what it sounds like and is a playable character.
The best is when Marius summons the ghosts of his dead barricade buddies, including Enjolras in the trademark vest.

OH MY GOD Y U DO THIS TO ME.
Okay.
Well.
I want James Barbour as Javert. That’s a must.
And I fucking love Hugh Panaro, best Phantom I’ve ever seen (I’ve seen him, John Cudia, and whoever was the Phantom around the year 2000…might have been Howard McGillin? I don’t remember, I was little, and the show scared the crap out of me.)
Anyway.
Hugh Panaro is my favorite actor on Broadway currently, and I’d be curious to see if he could pull off Valjean (he was Marius in Les Mis at one point, long ago, which I think is interesting.)
Speaking of Phantom, Jennifer Hope Wills was the best Christine I’ve ever seen by far, and I think she’d be a perfect Fantine as well. Or maybe Kelli O’Hara…but I dunno if I can picture her voice in that role. Like, I know she can hit the notes and do it well, but her voice may not be as operatic as it would need to ideally be for the part.
Danny Burstein could be a really interesting take on Thénardier: you’d really be playing him for laughs, as opposed to chills or uneasiness like some productions go for. Madame T has got to be Jenny Galloway. I need no explanation.
Marius n’ Eponine n’ Cosette…no names really jump out at me at first thought. I personally can’t think of any age-appropriate actors whom I absolutely adore for the parts, though I really liked Jeremy Hays as Enjolras when I saw him do the part at the Paper Mill Playhouse last year (though I’ll admit, a large part of why I like him is The Hair.)
So…yeah! That’s my casting, for the principles anyway (minus Gavroche/Little Cosette/Little Eponine, but as long as the kids aren’t completely annoying, you can pretty much cast whoever.)
