Musical Challenge #4: Favorite song from a...
Well, THAT’S extraordinarily vague.
So I’m going to change it a bit, and make it favorite love song from a musical…which honestly is just as hard. I mean, there are so many choices…for a while, I guess my personal ultimate was “All I Ask of You” from The Phantom of the Opera. (Yes, I KNOW it’s Andrew Lloyd Webber…but still…) To me, Phantom...

I always cry the most at Carousel. It’s a beautiful and stunningly sad musical with the definition of a bittersweet ending. Billy Bigelow and Julie Jordan are arguably two of the most well-written characters in musical theatre history, and their tumultuous relationship seems even sadder when juxtaposed with the cheerful engagement of Carrie Pipperidge and Enoch Snow.

That, and the fact that my sister was Fred (the lead) in middle school…yeah, that might have something to do with it as well.

Musical Challenge #1: The most underrated musical.
Without a doubt, A Tale of Two Cities. It closed after a couple of months after some pretty terrible reviews, basically calling it a shittier version of Les Misérables that was unoriginal and uninspiring. Ridiculous. I had never seen as much heart, passion and dedication on stage as I did that night in the audience. Plus, it’s James Barbour as Sydney Carton.

Gone to the grey side.
So yeah, I’ve got a tumblr now. Wah-hoo. I was really against the idea of these (and still kind of am), because my biggest fear is that I’m going to forget that even though I might be alone when I post on this thing, I’m not the only one who can read it. But I guess self-awareness is the first step toward prevention? Sure, let’s go with that. Yeah. Uh. Second biggest fear:...
